FinHero Partners with CIBI at DEX Connex Philippines, Expanding FinXtract’s Reach Across ASEAN

April 2025 – Manila, Philippines

Penang-headquartered fintech company FinHero continues its regional growth trajectory by forming a strategic partnership with the Philippines’ oldest and pioneering credit bureau, CIBI Information Inc. This collaboration was officially announced at DEX Connex Philippines 2025, a business matching and digital export platform spearheaded by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).

The signing marks a significant milestone for both organizations as they join forces to improve digital credit assessment capabilities and data automation across the ASEAN financial landscape. CIBI, with decades of experience in credit evaluation and information services, will integrate FinHero’s FinXtract solution—a proprietary AI-powered document intelligence platform—into its operations.

“CIBI is proud to collaborate with FinHero in our push to digitize credit evaluation in the Philippines. This partnership enables us to modernize how we process financial data for MSMEs and underserved communities, making lending more accessible and less reliant on traditional data barriers,” said a CIBI spokesperson during the ceremony.

FinXtract, developed by FinHero, is designed to extract structured data from financial and business documents such as bank statements, invoices, and audited reports with high accuracy. Its automation capabilities allow partners like CIBI to reduce manual work, speed up decision-making, and maintain compliance—all while cutting costs by over 70% and improving operational efficiency by more than 90%.

This partnership aligns with FinHero’s mission to democratize access to financial infrastructure across Southeast Asia. Through partnerships with credit bureaus, financial institutions, and digital platforms, FinHero enables faster, more inclusive credit decisions powered by AI and alternative data.

DEX Connex—short for Digital Export Connex—is part of MDEC’s initiative to help Malaysian tech companies establish a stronger international footprint. The event in Manila featured bilateral dialogues, cross-border matchings, and fintech showcases, attracting delegations from both government and industry.

“The Malaysia–Philippines digital bridge is strengthening, and partnerships like FinHero x CIBI showcase how fintech innovation can drive real change at a regional level,” said MDEC representatives during the launch.

The FinHero–CIBI partnership will enter pilot implementation in Q2 2025, starting with SME credit automation, before scaling to broader use cases across industries including lending, leasing, and trade credit.
