We’re proud to announce that FinHero is among the initial eight partners selected to onboard the new Microsoft Malaysia West Cloud Region — a major milestone as Microsoft launches its first-ever cloud region in the country.

Scheduled to go live in Q2 2025, this cloud region is part of Microsoft’s US$2.2 billion investment in Malaysia’s digital and AI infrastructure. With three hyperscale data centers across Greater Kuala Lumpur, the cloud region is expected to boost performance, enhance data sovereignty, and support local innovation.

Being one of the first few onboarded partners is a true honor for us at FinHero. It means we’ll be among the earliest to test and leverage Microsoft’s local Azure infrastructure, enabling us to serve our customers with even faster, more secure, and more compliant fintech solutions — all hosted right here in Malaysia.

The impact of this initiative is significant:

• An estimated US$10.9 billion in new revenue for Malaysia by 2028
• Over 37,000 jobs to be created, including 5,700 skilled IT roles
• 800,000 Malaysians to be trained in digital and AI skills under Microsoft’s “AI for Malaysia’s Future” program

We see this as not just a technical upgrade, but a leap forward for Malaysia’s digital economy — and we’re excited to be part of the journey.
